My family and I moved back to the Seattle area (for the 3rd time!) in 2011. We set out to make a life and home again in the beautiful Pacific Northwest - but this time with an almost 2 year old in tow.
Finding interesting places to go and things to do - that we can all enjoy together - was challenging. Finding spaces that were also clean and met my design sense few and far between. I found it frustrating that I had to compromise nutritious (delicious) food and my sanity when visiting kid friendly destinations. We enrolled in classes, but there was nothing to do before or after. I always felt herded and rushed. When you factor in the weather, well - let's just say it was depressing.
I started dreaming about a space that would instantly feel like home. A space where I would want to hang out, have quality time with my son, meet other families, learn something new and maybe even cross off a few things on my never ending to-do list.
I dreamt of a space where my son could meet new friends, acquire new skills, have a raucous good time and beg me to return to. Somewhere safe, clean and inspiring - where we were greeted with a familiar smile and warm welcome.
Ultimately, a place that addressed my needs as a person - not just a parent, and somewhere my son felt free to explore on his own - and that exercised not only his body, but his mind and heart. My 'Cheers'.
I am beyond thrilled to be able to bring this dream into fruition and share it with all of you. My hope is that you and your child leave romp feeling energized, happy and connected.
