Have a budding chef, age 5-9, and want to keep them engaged during April break? We're going to spring into the kitchen with fun and tasty daily themes. Your chef will work on enhancing their culinary skills while working together with others in the kitchen. PLUS, campers will enjoy up to 30 minutes of play time in the gorgeous ROMP play space.
Monday: Bringing the Outside Inside- We'll whip up tasty “Dirt” cups with healthy homemade gummy worms (using natural food colors) and secret ingredient chocolate "dirt" cake, then create delicious Bird’s Nest Treats. Students will also get to plant their own flowers to take home and care for.
Tuesday: April Showers Bring a Rainbow of Color! We'll make recipes that feature colorful and nutritious ingredients like colorful pasta salad loaded with good stuff, fruit salad and veggie flower cups with dip.
Wednesday: All About Seeds! We’re going to learn all about seeds, both for planting and for eating—and why they’re so beneficial! Students will have a chance to sample a wide variety of edible seeds. We’ll make fruit jam with chia seeds and use it for a yummy sunflower seed butter and jam sandwich. We’ll also create multi-seed whole wheat crackers with sesame, poppy, and fennel seeds to eat with the tasty and nutritious hummus we’ll be whipping up. Each child will get to make their own Chia Pet to bring home and care for.
